Download the Claude desktop app from Anthropic and open Claude Cowork. Connect one tool you already use: Gmail, Notion, Canva, or Google Drive. Ask Cowork to create a file for you: a .docx brief, a .pptx outline, or a structured report.

Watch it create the file and save it to a folder. That is the moment things shift. Identify one task in your workflow that repeats every week. That task is a Cowork candidate.

If you write or review code, open your terminal and run claude to start using Claude Code alongside your IDE.

Real Example

I use all three in the same week, but never at the same time.

Monday morning: I open Claude Chat to draft three LinkedIn post ideas while I have coffee. Without friction or setup. I type, it thinks, I edit.

Wednesday: I need to send a deck to a client. I open Cowork, connect it to my Google Drive folder, and ask it to build a .pptx from the bullet points I paste in. It creates the file. I review it. Twenty minutes instead of two hours.

Friday: One of my developer contacts uses Claude Code to review a pull request directly from the terminal, without switching to a separate tool. He has told me it has changed how his whole team works.

Today → You connect it all into a daily morning routine that takes under 10 minutes. This is the habit that locks in Layer 2 for good.

Why routines matter more than tools

Here’s something I’ve noticed after working with hundreds of professionals on AI adoption: the people who get the most out of these tools aren’t the ones who know the most prompts. They’re the ones who run the same workflow every single morning until it becomes automatic.

That’s how Layer 2 actually works. Not a tool you open when you’re stuck. A system that runs before you even open your inbox.

Today I’m giving you that system. It takes less than 10 minutes. You can start it tomorrow.

The Morning Stack

Think of this as a three-part briefing you give yourself every morning, the kind a chief of staff would prepare for an executive. Except now you’re the executive, and Comet is your chief of staff.

Part 1: The Industry Briefing (3 minutes)

You already have this prompt from Day 1. This is where you start. Run your personalized “Brief Me” prompt every morning. Same prompt. Different results every day, because the news changes.

If you haven’t saved it yet, here it is again:

You are a senior research analyst specializing in [your industry]. Your role is to brief me like a [your role] — concise, structured, and forward-looking. Follow this format:

• 🔴 What’s urgent: breaking news or developments from the last 7 days

• 📈 What’s trending: signals gaining momentum in the next 90 days

• 🧠 Strategic implication: in 2 sentences, what this means for a company in my position

• 👀 Watch list: 2–3 names (companies, regulators, leaders) to monitor this week

Be specific. Use real names, real numbers, real dates. I prefer uncomfortable truths over comfortable summaries.

Read it. Note anything that matters. Move on.

Part 2: The Meeting Prep (4 minutes)

Look at your calendar for today. If you have any call or meeting, a client, a prospect, a collaborator, an interviewer, open their LinkedIn profile inside Comet right now.

Run the profile analysis prompt from Day 2:

Take control of my web browser and analyze this profile and their latest 5 posts. Tell me which topics they are talking about and what I can bring to the table to talk to them in a meeting.

This is not a step you skip when you’re busy. This is especially for when you’re busy. Three minutes of preparation changes the entire tone of a conversation.

Part 3 — Set Your Daily Briefing on Autopilot (2 minutes)

You’ve run the “Brief Me” prompt from Day 1 manually inside Comet. Now you’re going to make it automatic, so it runs every morning before you even open a tab.

This is a native feature built directly into Comet. No setup, no automation tools. It’s already waiting for you.

Do this now:

1. Open Comet and go to All Settings

2. Go to Notifications

3. You’ll see a section called Create a Scheduled Search

4. Paste your personalized “Brief Me” prompt, the one you customized in Day 1 with your industry and your role.

5. Choose Daily and set the time you want to receive it (I recommend 7:30 or 8:00 AM)

6. Hit save

That’s it! From tomorrow morning, Comet runs your briefing automatically and delivers the result as a notification, before you’ve opened anything else. You don’t type a prompt. You don’t open a tab. You wake up and the briefing is already there.

Run this every morning for five days and something shifts. You stop starting the day reactive, scrolling news, checking notifications, waiting for someone to tell you what matters. You start the day with context, direction, and prep that makes every meeting better.

Creo propuestas, presentaciones, briefings y resúmenes ejecutivos en solo minutos. Mejor dicho, no las creo yo. Realmente le digo a mi agente la info necesaria para que lo pueda crear él. Yo dirigo y mi agente ejecuta en solo minutos.

Lo que nos deja a todos pensando: Si la ejecución se vuelve tan rápida… ¿qué hacemos con el tiempo que recuperamos?

2. Informes de finanzas personales sin código ni fórmulas

Solo un archivo de transacciones bancaria, un prompt bien diseñado y un agente de IA. El resultado: claridad total. Patrones de gasto, categorías, tendencias, fricciones, oportunidades.

Welcome to Day 2: Know Anyone Before You Meet Them

Yesterday you stopped reacting to AI and started using it with intention. You used Comet to research topics, companies, and trends in minutes instead of hours. You moved from Layer 1 to the edge of something different.

Today you take the next step and this is where Layer 2 begins.

The thing you’ve been doing wrong before every meeting

Think about the last time you had a call with someone you didn’t know well.

Maybe you searched their name on LinkedIn. Skimmed their headline. Clicked on one post. Read the first two lines. Then the calendar notification popped up and you joined the call anyway with a vague sense of who they were and no real idea of how to connect with them.

That stops today.

You will never again walk into a meeting, interview, or networking coffee without knowing exactly who you’re talking to. You’ll suddenly have more time, because you now have an assistant living inside your browser that can do that research for you in less than 3 minutes flat.

That’s Layer 2. AI embedded in how you prepare for every conversation.

What you’ll learn today

• How to use Comet to analyze any LinkedIn profile and recent activity

• How to extract positioning insights, talking points, and preparation notes automatically

• The “know before you meet” workflow for client calls, job interviews, prospect research, and networking

Let’s do it! step by step

Before you start: log in to LinkedIn inside Comet

This is important. Comet is your browser, which means you use it exactly like you would use Chrome or Safari but with an AI assistant built in.

So open Comet, go to linkedin.com, and log in to your account normally. That’s it. You’re ready!

⚠️ Free vs. paid — what to expect:

If you’re on the free version of Comet, the assistant will read your prompt and give you a useful answer but it won’t take direct control of your browser or navigate the page on its own.

If you’re on the paid version, you unlock Comet’s full agentic capability: it actively browses the profile, reads the posts, and brings the insights back to you without you doing any of it manually. That’s the full experience.

Exercise 1 — Analyze someone else’s profile

Think of one person you have a real upcoming interaction with. A client, a prospect, someone who is going to interview you, a potential collaborator, a speaker you’ll meet at an event. Anyone.

1- Go to their LinkedIn profile inside Comet.

2- Once you’re on their profile page, open the Comet assistant and type this prompt:

Take control of my web browser and analyze this profile and their latest 5 posts. Tell me which topics they are talking about and what I can bring to the table to talk to them in a meeting.

3- Read the output carefully. In about less than 3 minutes you’ll have:

• The main topics this person talks about

• How they position themselves professionally

• What seems to matter to them most right now

• Smart talking points you can use in the conversation

• What you can bring to the table that would actually be relevant to them

What used to take close to an hour of manual research, opening tabs, reading posts, trying to piece together a picture of someone now takes minutes.

It might sound like surveillance, instead this is preparation. You are using public professional information to show up more informed, more thoughtful, and more useful in the conversation.

You should be able to see something like the next video:

Exercise 2 — Analyze your own profile

Now stay in Comet and navigate to your own LinkedIn profile.

Once you’re on it, open the assistant again and type this:

Analyze my LinkedIn profile as if you were a positioning strategist. Identify 3 concrete improvements that would make my profile clearer, stronger, and more compelling to the kind of people I want to attract.

You might be surprised by what comes back. Most professionals haven’t looked at their own profile through someone else’s eyes in a long time. This does it for you in seconds.

One more thing

After showing this example in every session I always hear: “Why didn’t anyone tell me about this before?”. Now you know it!

This exercise shows you one of the best uses of what Comet can do. But I want you to start imagining what else becomes possible when you have an AI assistant living inside your browser.

It can analyze any web page. Summarize YouTube videos. Create calendar invites. Fill out forms. Research competitors. Extract data from any site. All without switching tabs, copying, pasting, or doing any of it manually.

As I always tell the participants in my courses: this way of working is so different from what we’ve been used to that it requires a real mindset shift. A complete reset of habits built over years. The people who get the most out of these tools are not necessarily the most technical. They’re the ones who let go of old habits fastest.

The Rabbit Hole Problem.

You need to prep for a call. Research a new client or someone who is going to interview you. So you open a tab on your web browser (Chrome or Safari). Then open another tab and then another. 45 minutes later you have 12 open tabs, a vague sense of having read something useful, and still no clear answer.

First: Where Are You Right Now?

Before we dive in, I want to show you something. Because this course isn’t just about learning a few prompts, it’s about changing how you work with AI, permanently.

Most professionals using AI today are at Layer 1: Assisted.

The Tool We’re Using And Why

Throughout this course we’re going to work with two tools: Comet and Perplexity.

You’ve probably heard of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini. These are great tools. But they’re not what we’re using here and there’s a good reason for that.

Comet and Perplexity are not the most popular AI tools. But in my experience, they are among the best for professional research and daily work. I’ve been using Perplexity for a long time and it’s still one of the first things I open every morning.

Let me explain you this briefly: Perplexity is an AI answer engine and assistant, and Comet is Perplexity’s AI-first web browser; Comet was launched in July 2025, while Perplexity’s core service dates back to 2022 as the founding and public launch of the company and product.

Here’s what makes Comet different:

• Comet is an AI-powered web browser, not just a chat interface. It searches, synthesizes, and delivers answers with different sources in real time.

• It gives you access to multiple AI models (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, and more) from a single interface.

• It doesn’t just answer questions, it briefs you, compares options, extracts insights, and creates content from a single prompt. It’s like having a human assistant working for you.

• It has almost zero hallucination anxiety, because every answer is grounded in live web sources.

I’ve used Comet and Perplexity tools with hundreds of professionals in workshops and courses. The reaction is almost always the same:

Scenario 1: The Last-Minute Meeting Prep

It’s 8:47 AM. You have a call at 9:15 with a potential client you’ve never spoken to. Their name is on your calendar but you haven’t had time to look them up.

Use this prompt in Comet:

“Brief me on [Company]. I have 10 minutes before a call with them. Give me: (1) what their company does and their likely priorities right now, (2) any recent news about their company or industry, and (3) two smart questions I can ask to show I’ve done my homework.”

Scenario 2: The Trend You’ve Been Nodding Along To

Your CEO mentioned a trend in the last all-hands. A client brought it up last week too. You nodded both times. You still don’t fully understand it.

Use this prompt:

“Explain [trend/topic] to me like I’m a smart professional who hasn’t had time to follow it closely. Give me: (1) what it actually is in plain language, (2) why it matters for someone in [your industry/role], and (3) one concrete example I can use in a conversation to sound informed.”

Scenario 3: The “Brief Me” Morning Prompt

You don’t have time to know what is happening in the industry you work for or the one you want to move to. You can be updated now with this prompt.

Here’s your copy-paste template:

You are a senior research analyst specializing in [FILL: your industry, e.g. “oil & gas / energy transition”]. Your role is to brief me like a [FILL: C-suite executive, manager or expert] concise, structured, and forward-looking. Follow this format:

In Madrid, Echoes of the Ocean offered a contrasting but complementary experience: 12 large screens displaying AI-generated visuals paired with real underwater sounds, all grounded in research on ocean noise pollution.

While TeamLab invited an inward connection to beauty and impermanence, this installation sparked awareness of humanity’s impact on the natural world. Together, both experiences lead to a broader reflection:

Technology and AI are neutral tools, their value depends entirely on how we choose to use them, and the real challenge is harnessing them fully while holding on to our humanity.

And honestly? In a world where first impressions often happen online, images communicate before we even say a word.

That’s exactly why I started experimenting with Nano Banana, an image generation model available inside Google Gemini. I wanted to see how far AI-generated visuals could go when creating professional-looking portraits and branded imagery.

The results genuinely surprised me.

Not only were the outputs incredibly good, but I managed to create them in just minutes. What would normally require organizing a photoshoot, editing, styling, and a lot of coordination suddenly became a fast creative process that expanded my visual portfolio almost instantly.

Why use Nano Banana

What I find fascinating is not just the speed, but the accessibility. A few years ago, building a diverse visual portfolio required significant time, budget, and production resources. Today, we can prototype ideas almost instantly.

Not as a concept. Not as a future promise. But as something real, working, and already happening today.

That was the starting point of the masterclass AI Agents at Work, and I want to share with you what really changed in the room. Because it wasn’t just about tools.It was about a shift in mindset.

From doing the work to designing the system

We built two things live during the session.

The first one: an AI agent in the cloud capable of generating fully personalized presentations in minutes. Without templates and generic slides I created presentations adapted to the topic, tone, audience, and intent you define through natural language. And I remember the moment it clicked for people. It wasn’t the output that surprised them. It was the simplicity of the input. A few prompts. A clear intention. And suddenly, something that usually takes hours becomes almost instantaneous.

Which raises an uncomfortable question:

If execution becomes this fast, what do we do with all the time we get back?

The second breakthrough: your finances, translated into insight

The second exercise went even deeper into daily reality. We used natural language prompts to build a system that generates a personal finance report from a simple file of bank transactions. No coding. No complex setup. Just structured data + a well-designed prompt + an AI agent that knows how to interpret patterns. And what came out wasn’t just a summary. It was clarity: Spending behaviors. Categories. Trends. Friction points. Opportunities.

The kind of analysis that normally requires spreadsheets, formulas, and time most people simply don’t have. And again, the reaction in the room was not wow, this is complicated. It was the opposite: This is too easy. The real insight: AI agents are not about automation. They are about liberation. We often talk about AI in terms of productivity.

But what I saw yesterday had very little to do with productivity in the traditional sense. It had to do with freedom.

Freedom from repetitive execution. Freedom from operational overload. Freedom to move into work that actually requires judgment, creativity, and strategic thinking.

Because here’s the uncomfortable truth: Most professionals are still spending their best cognitive energy on tasks that machines are now capable of doing in seconds. And that gap is only going to grow.

So what changes when AI starts doing the doing? We shift roles. Quietly, but fundamentally. From building slides to designing communication systems. From processing data to interpreting meaning. From executing tasks to defining what matters.And that shift is not technical. It’s strategic.

Because the real value is no longer in producing more. It’s in deciding better. Better questions. Better priorities. Better decisions about where human intelligence should actually be focused.

This is just the beginning

What we explored in the masterclass is only a small glimpse of what is already possible with cloud-based AI agents.

We are moving into a world where systems execute for us, workflows adapt to context, and ideas become operational in minutes, not weeks. But the real transformation is not technical. It’s behavioral.

The Three Trust Killers

Most AI deployments fail before they begin, undermined by three critical mistakes that erode team confidence:

1. The Leadership Blind Spot: Executives mandate AI without modeling it themselves. As Alba Vargas notes in my book When AI Joins The Marketing Team, “Adoption doesn’t happen by mandate. Culture is built on trust, not fear.” When leaders push tools they don’t use, teams see through the performance.

2. Tools Before Belief: The familiar pattern plays out weekly: Monday brings new tools, Tuesday offers no training, Wednesday surfaces unanswered questions, and Friday demands results. You can’t build belief with a deadline. Without roadmaps, training, or clarity, resistance appears disguised as incompetence.

3. Shadow AI: Your team is already using ChatGPT and Claude without telling you. That silence isn’t defiance—it’s a compliance risk waiting to surface. The gap between official policy and actual behavior creates vulnerability.

The Deployment Framework

Strategic AI adoption requires intention, not speed. Here’s the five-step framework:

1. Start with one process you already measure, don’t overhaul everything

2. Pilot with willing adopters, not mandated teams

3. Document wins AND failures (both build credibility)

4. Let results build belief before you scale

5. Create official AI workflows to channel Shadow AI behavior

The principle is simple: you can’t scale what you haven’t piloted. Start small, prove it, then grow.

Trust equals skills. AI deployment success depends on developing two critical skill categories:

Soft Skills (Can’t be automated): Analytical thinking ranks as the #1 skill in the World Economic Forum 2025 report, followed by creative thinking, resilience, flexibility, and the agility to learn and unlearn.

Hard Skills (Must be built deliberately): Prompt literacy and AI collaboration, data interpretation and analysis, marketing automation fluency, CRM and personalization tech, plus A/B testing and optimization.

Ethics as Your Firewall

AI reflects our values, it doesn’t erase them. Before scaling, answer these questions:

These aren’t philosophical questions. They’re operational decisions that define your brand’s integrity.

The Bottom Line

AI is not the destination. It is the co-creator.

Deploy with intention. Pilot with care. Build trust before you build scale.

The teams that win with AI won’t be the ones who moved fastest, they’ll be the ones who moved deliberately, building adoption on belief rather than mandate.

• Delegate with AI-generated briefs

• Build an MVP or a personal landing page

The most striking demonstration in this section: building a complete Linktree-style personal landing page, with animations, icon buttons, mobile-first design, and social media metadata, using a single text prompt sent to Manus.

The two agents changing the game

Claude Code — Layer 3: Autonomous

Claude Code is an autonomous AI agent that runs directly on your computer via the terminal. It can access local files, create new ones, execute commands, and build fully functional web applications from text or voice instructions.

I used it to organize 385 files in my downloads folder in under 5 minutes. Categorized folders, everything sorted, without touching a single file manually.

I also built cristinapenaloza.com in under 10 minutes without writing a single line of code.

Manus — Layer 3: General-purpose agent

Manus is an autonomous agent with a chat-first interface. No technical commands required. You simply describe what you want.

Its capabilities include autonomous multi-step task execution, web browsing, data extraction and analysis, code generation and execution, and persistent cross-session memory.

Some examples I demonstrated live:

What AI should not do

Before closing, this part matters.

AI is only as good as the person directing it. You remain the criteria.

Four rules I do not negotiate with any of my students:

1. Do not let it make final decisions for you. The final judgment is always yours as a leader.

2. Do not replace your critical thinking. AI complements, it never substitutes your analysis.

3. Do not feed it confidential information without prior corporate validation.

4. Do not use the output without reviewing it. Always validate before acting on any result.

Where to start

You do not need to set everything up at once.

The only question you need to ask yourself each week is this:

Which repetitive, time-consuming tasks could be handled by my AI assistant or agent?

One task a week. Fifty-two a year. That is the transformation.

Based on 209 community votes, the bigger problem is that many professionals still haven’t moved from general AI use into specialist tools that fit real workflows.

In the first survey question, 30% said they use none of the listed specialist AI tools at all. Among the tools that did stand out, NotebookLM led with 20% and Gamma followed with 16%, suggesting strong demand for tools that reduce research and presentation effort quickly.

That already tells an interesting story: people are not rejecting AI. They are struggling to translate interest into implementation.

The second survey question makes that even clearer. The top challenge was “I don’t have time to learn all these new AI tools” at 37%, followed by “The number of options overwhelms me” at 32%. Another 22% said they don’t know which tools are worth paying for, and 9% said they try tools but never integrate them into real work.

So the real barrier is not access. It’s bandwidth, prioritization, and decision fatigue.

This is why AI adoption often stalls inside teams and among independent professionals. The tools exist. The curiosity exists. But without a clear path, most people stay in what could be called AI Layer 1: using general tools occasionally, without building a specialist stack that supports research, presentations, workflows, content, or automation.

A few insights stand out from the data:

• NotebookLM is winning the research use case. It led the specialist tools list with 20%, which signals strong value in turning documents and source material into usable insight faster.

• Gamma is gaining ground for presentations. At 16%, it resonates with people who want speed and simplicity instead of building decks manually.

• Non-adoption is still high. The fact that 30% chose “none” is one of the most important findings in the survey.

• Learning friction is bigger than tool friction. The top challenge was lack of time, not lack of interest.

• Too much choice is slowing action. Overwhelm ranked second, reinforcing that more tools do not automatically create more progress.

For leaders, consultants, and marketers, the takeaway is simple: if you want AI adoption, do not start with more tools. Start with fewer, better-matched tools and a clearer learning path.

In practice, that means:

• Pick one tool for research.

• Pick one tool for presentations or content.

• Decide what problem each tool solves.

• Integrate it into one recurring workflow before adding another.

The gap is no longer awareness. The gap is operational adoption. And that is exactly where better guidance, training, and curation matter most.

190 people. Two questions. Zero fluff.

That was the brief when I sent the survey to my AI community. I wasn’t looking for validation. I was looking for an honest read on where people actually stand with AI. Not where they say they stand, not where the headlines claim everyone is.

The data came back. And it confirmed something I’ve been saying for two years: most professionals are stuck. And they don’t know why.

The First Question: Which AI Tool Do You Use Daily?

The results were not surprising. They were revealing.

ChatGPT leads at 37%. Claude comes in second at 22%. Gemini at 15%, Copilot at 10%. Then a long tail: Comet and Perplexity at 6%, Claude Code and Grok at 5% each.

What this tells me isn’t about market share. It’s about habit.

ChatGPT won the habit war, and habit is the hardest competitive moat to break. It was most people’s first AI download. It’s still their default. Not because it’s the best tool for every job. Because it’s the familiar one. The one that feels like “the safe choice.”

There’s nothing wrong with ChatGPT. But there’s something worth interrogating in this number: if 37% of an AI-forward community (people who joined a group specifically to learn how to use AI better) are still defaulting to the first thing they ever tried, what does that say about adoption depth?

It says we’ve learned to use a hammer. We haven’t built the toolbox yet.

The Claude number interests me most. 22%, and a disproportionate number of Claude users describe using it for thinking, not just drafting. For reasoning through complex problems, for strategic analysis, for the kind of work where the prompt itself requires effort. That’s a different relationship with AI. That’s closer to a system than a reflex.

The Second Question: What’s Your Biggest Frustration with AI?

This is where it got honest.

40% said: too many tools, don’t know which to pick. 26% said: information overload, feel overwhelmed. 24% said: results are never quite what I expected. 11% said: it takes longer to set up than just doing it myself.

I want to sit with that first number for a moment.

Four out of ten people in an AI community, people who are actively trying to learn, say their primary frustration is not knowing which tool to pick. That’s not a knowledge problem. That’s a maturity gap.

The information is everywhere. Tutorials, comparisons, listicles, YouTube videos. The problem isn’t access to information. The problem is that nobody has given people a map. A way to orient themselves in the landscape, not based on which tool is trending, but based on where they are and where they want to go.

That’s what the data was asking for, even if it didn’t say it directly.

The Framework Nobody Handed Them

After looking at these numbers, I mapped the data onto something I’ve been using in my courses: the three layers of AI maturity.

Layer 1. Assisted. You prompt. AI responds. You get an answer, a draft, a summary. The interaction is reactive. You need AI; you go to AI. This is where 52% of the community lives, the ChatGPT and Gemini daily users. It’s a valid starting point. It’s just not a destination.

Layer 2. Augmented. AI lives in your workflow. You don’t switch tabs to ask a question because AI is already in the context where you’re working. Comet in your browser is the clearest example: it’s always on, no friction, no context-switching. Only 6% of the community is here. That gap between Layer 1 and Layer 2 is, literally, a browser extension. The barrier is smaller than people think.

Layer 3. Autonomous. AI works while you don’t. Claude Code executing multi-step tasks, Manus running research pipelines end-to-end, Cowork managing file operations while you’re in a meeting. This is where 5 to 6% of the community operates. The early adopters. The ones who stopped asking “which tool should I use” because they already built the system.

Here’s what the data shows when you map it this way: the frustration isn’t random. It’s structural. People stuck in Layer 1 experience tool overwhelm because they’re evaluating tools at the wrong level. They’re asking “ChatGPT vs. Claude?” when the better question is “am I using AI reactively or systemically?”

The tool question answers itself once you know which layer you’re trying to reach.

What I’m Taking From This

I teach executives and marketing professionals how to integrate AI into real work. And this survey reminded me that the gap between knowing and doing is still enormous, even in communities that self-select for curiosity.

The 40% who don’t know which tool to pick aren’t confused. They’re unsupported. They’ve been handed tools without a framework for choosing. They’ve been shown outputs without being shown the systems that produce them.

The 26% who feel overwhelmed aren’t weak. They’re navigating a landscape that changes every three weeks with no map and no guide.

The 24% whose results don’t meet expectations aren’t failing. They’re prompting at Layer 1 and expecting Layer 3 outcomes.

What they need isn’t more tools. What they need is clarity about where they are, and a specific, honest path to where they want to go.
